For the most part, The Crue’s take on the pop classic stays true to the original’s melody, except for the chorus, when everything slows down as Vince Neil wails over a dirge-like guitar riff. To hear what that sounds like, you can download the cover now via digital outlets.

The ’80s metallers recorded the “Like a Virgin” cover for the soundtrack to The Dirt, the upcoming biopic about the band’s debaucherous rise to the top of the charts. The album also includes the song “The Dirt (Est. 1981),” as well as two other brand new tracks: “Ride with the Devil” and “Crash and Burn.”

The Dirt starts streaming on Netflix March 22, and the soundtrack drops the same day.
