Craft Recordings1969 was a landmark year for Creedence Clearwater Revival. In addition to performing at the historic Woodstock festival, the roots-rock legends also released three hit albums: Bayou Country, Green River and Willy and the Poor Boys.  Now, in honor of their 50th anniversary, those last two CCR albums will be reissued as standalone 180-gram vinyl LPs on November 15.

Both discs will feature audio remastered at London’s famed Abbey Road Studios at half-speed, which results in higher-quality audio. The LPs come housed in jackets replicating the albums’ original packaging.

Green River was released in August of ’69, and became CCR’s first album to top the Billboard 200. The record featured the hit title track and “Bad Moon Rising,” which both reached #2 on the Hot 100 singles chart. Other notable songs include “Commotion,” which peaked at #30 on the Hot 100 tally, as well as “Lodi” and “Wrote a Song for Everyone.”

Green River has sold more than three million copies in the U.S., and has been cited by CCR frontman John Fogerty as his favorite album in his old band’s catalog.

Willy and the Poor Boys was released in November 1969, and peaked at #3 on the Billboard 200. It included the top five hits “Down on the Corner” and “Fortunate Son,” as well as a memorable cover of the traditional tune “The Midnight Special.” The album, which takes its name from a line in “Down on the Corner,” has sold two million copies in the States.

The Green River and Willy and the Poor Boys LPs can be pre-ordered now. Both discs previously were available as part of CCR’s The Complete Studio Albums vinyl box set, which was released in November 2018.
