ABC/Heidi GutmanBillie Joe Armstrong‘s covers series continues with a performance of a song by ’70s San Francisco punk band The Avengers.

The Green Day frontman put his spin on the track “Corpus Christi,” which he dubs one of his “all-time favorite” Avengers songs. You can listen to it now streaming on YouTube.

Each week, Armstrong has been releasing covers as part of his “No Fun Mondays” series, which he plans to do “until we’re let back out into the world.”

Previous covers include “I Think We’re Alone Now” by Tommy James & the Shondells, “You Can’t Put Your Arms Around a Memory” by Johnny Thunders, and “Manic Monday,” by The Bangles. For that last one, Armstrong was joined — remotely, of course — by Bangles vocalist/guitarist Susanna Hoffs.

If you need even more Billie Joe in your life, you can catch him perform on this Saturday’s star-studded, multi-network One World: Together at Home special in support of COVID-19 relief.
