There’s anxiety at Metro Detroit school districts as President Donald Trump’s is expected to issue an executive order to take apart the Department of Education.

Detroit Public Schools Superintendent Nikolai Vitti says he’s in favor of change for large districts, but this isn’t the answer.

I’ve always been a strong critic of the need for improvement and stronger accountability, but I’ve always said that has to be coupled with more support and more resources,” Vitti said.

Dr. Vitti says the Trump administration doesn’t have respect for strong public school districts.
