Fall back and spring forward. You’re going to lose an hour of sleep this weekend.

It’s time to spring forward, meaning you set your clocks ahead one hour Saturday night.

Dr. Kathy Goldstein, professor of neurology at University of Michigan Medical School, says moving into Daylight Saving Time over the weekend may be the worst time to actually do it.

And then the other problem is there’s the brilliant decision to make this occur overnight on a Sunday, and people tend to move their body clock later over the weekends because they go to bed later, they sleep in, and the later your body clock is, the harder it’s going to be to shift back to those now earlier times,” Goldstein said.

The best thing you can do is adjust now. Go to bed a little early tonight and tomorrow night too, and then by Saturday night before you go to bed, move those clocks ahead an hour. Hopefully, your body adjusts.

There has been an effort to do away with the time change, keeping us all on Standard Time year-round, but no serious progress has been made on that front.
