47 % of Michigan drivers who smoke marijuana say it has no impact on their driving.

According to a new study from AAA, 53% of people who smoke marijuana do so an hour or less before driving. Spokesperson Adrienne Woodland says that’s not safe, outlining some of the effects of pot use.

“Fatigue and sleepiness, brain fog, changes in visual or auditory perception, impaired body movement, as well as hallucination and delusion,” Woodland said.

Woodland calls driving while high an emerging problem.

AAA’s survey found 44% of respondents said they consume cannabis multiple times per day. 57% indicated they drive daily, 84% revealed they drive the same day that they consume cannabis, 46% believe they either drive the same, a little better or much better.
