A Niles High School teacher who also serves as a sports coach has been placed on administrative leave and an internal investigation is underway after allegations surfaced regarding inappropriate contact with a minor.

In a letter to parents, Superintendent Dr. Adam Burtsfield confirmed one of their teachers is on leave, an internal investigation is underway, and local police have been contacted to ensure appropriate authorities are involved.

A child predator vigilante group posted a video on social media, allegedly showing the teacher meeting a teenager and then being confronted.

The district official says they are cooperating with authorities on their investigation and will take any necessary actions in accordance with school policy, as well as federal and state laws.
