It’s a big honor for the city of Detroit’s big fireworks show.

USA TODAY has nominated the Ford Fireworks as one of the best places to see fireworks this summer. Parade Company President Tony Michaels says the rest of the country will get to see what we already know in Detroit.

“Last fall, America’s Thanksgiving Parade, presented by Gardner White, won the number one holiday parade in America through USA Today,” Michaels said. “Now we’re nominated for the best firework show in America, the Ford Fireworks, and we think it’s the best. Our city thinks it’s the best. Now we’ve got to show America by voting, which opens up today.”

The fireworks show blasts off June 23 over the Detroit River.
