The Berrien County Road Department is planning to close several roads next week for utility work.

Starting Monday, March 10, there will be road closures in Lincoln Township. Beginning around 9 a.m., Cleveland Avenue will be closed to northbound traffic between Alex Path and Marquette Woods Road. Also, eastbound Marquette Woods Road will be closed.

The work is expected to finish by 6 p.m. on the same day, depending on contractor progress and weather conditions. The recommended detour route is John Beers Road to Washington Road to Marquette Woods Road to then turn right to travel northbound on Cleveland Avenue.

In New Buffalo Township, Lakeside Road will be shut down to through traffic due to damage from weather conditions. Until repairs are made, a hard closure will be in effect at the washout site. No thru traffic will be allowed between US-12 and Forest Lawn. The detoured route is Forest Lawn Road to Basswood Road to US-12
