Are you getting enough sleep? In fact, 50 to 70 million Americans suffer from insomnia.

On this World Sleep Day, Priority Health’s Dr. Charletta Dennis has some ideas why we’re having trouble.

People focus a lot on technology and they spend days and hours on the end with this light in front of their face, whether it’s from their cell phone, whether it’s from their laptop, you have all this light that prevents you from actually falling asleep,” Dennis said. “So you have to put tools down and get you a sleep schedule to make sure that your mind and body are resting.”

Dennis also says don’t drink caffeine or alcohol before bedtime. She also recommends winding down, and not multitasking. If those things don’t help, you may want to see your doctor.
