Concord RecordsAn official video for Boz Scaggs‘ song “Little Miss Night and Day,” from his 2018 album Out of the Blues, got its premiere at Billboard.com and also is viewable on YouTube.

The black-and-white clip features footage of Scaggs performing the rollicking blues tune onstage with his current touring band, interspersed with scenes of the musicians and a road crew preparing for a concert.

Boz tells Billboard that the video celebrates the fun he’s been having playing shows with his band during the last few years, noting, “That’s what it’s about. It’s on the road. It’s live.”

Scaggs and his group have a busy few months ahead of them, starting with an appearance on the 2019 edition of the ’70s Rock & Romance Cruise on March 27 in Centro, Mexico. Boz then will launch a U.S. tour leg on April 7 in Fayetteville, Arkansas; it winds down with an April 27 performance at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.

“New Orleans is sort of the heart and root of so much of the music I’ve done,” Scaggs maintains, “so I really want to do a special set there and get into perhaps a new level of playing.”

The singer also will tour Japan in May, and plans another run of stateside shows in June and July.

Out of the Blues was the third in a trilogy of albums that found Scaggs exploring his musical influences, including blues, soul and Americana.

Boz tells Billboard that he’s thinking about changing things up for his next record.

“I miss some of the more lyrical, ballad stuff I’ve done in the past, so I’m looking in that direction,” he notes, adding, “I haven’t recorded a fully self-written album in some time, so that might be a way to go, too.”
